The MIPOA/MIFD Facilities Committee oversees the maintenance of MIPOA-owned assets including roads, stormwater systems, rights-of-way, common area amenities and land parcels.

This committee has established guidelines to encourage District property owners to maintain the appearance of their houses and grounds to a standard appropriate for the area. Property owners who believe they have a grievance are expected to address their issues directly with their neighbors as the first step to problem resolution. The Ice Pond in the center of the island is owned by the Masons Island Company. This committee's mission is to preserve the health and beauty of this scenic natural resource. This joint MIPOA/MIFD committee has been working with the Town of Stonington to develop an Emergency Response Program for MIFD residents in the unlikely event that town Emergency Services are not able to safely come on to the Island for any period of time. The plan calls for Neighborhood Contacts to communicate directly with residents in cases of major storms or other events that could impact access on and off the island.
